How to set up the Internet in Windows 98

Note: Your username and email address are the same. They are in the form johndoe@dmsaccess.com.

1. Double click My Computer.

   

2. Double click Dial-Up Networking.

   

3. If you need to delete an old connection go on to step #4, otherwise go to step #7.
4. Right click on the connection you want to delete
5. Click Delete from the context menu.

   

6. Click the Yes button.

   

7. Double click Make New Connection.

   

8. Type dmsaccess.com in the first box.
9. In the Select a device pull-down menu, select your modem. (most users will have only one choice)
10. Click the Next button.

    

11. Clear out the Area Code box.
12. In the Telephone number box, enter the number of your dial-up POP. Click here to locate a number near you.
13. Click the Next button.

    

14. Click the Next button.

    

15. Click here for help using the Internet for the first time.
